Press On - Overview
Each summer one of the commonly asked questions by returning staff and campers alike is "What is the theme?"
Well, for the summer of 2019, our theme is PRESS ON from Philippians 3:13-14.
" Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Yes, before you ask, we are having fun with puns at every possible opportunity! From press on fingernails, to pressing on in the gym, to pressing on to get the wrinkles out of clothing, lots of groans and good nature laughter is happening.
But beyond the puns, we are talking about the very real challenge most of us face when we have to figure out how to PRESS ON in our journey of faith. From the super, amazing, unbelievable great days to the hardest, darkest, seems like they will never end days, we are called to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and keep moving forward.
Our first series with the relaunch will take our theme verses from each day and offer a devotional by a member of our year-round IOLBC team. By end of the next 5 weeks, you will hopefully have a glimpse into what our campers have been learning about throughout the summer.
